Empty freshly painted living room with a roller on a drop cloth

Clear small items, wall hangings and fragile pieces from the rooms being painted, decide on colors ahead of time, and talk with your contractor about furniture, access and any wall repairs before work begins.

Clear the room

Take down artwork, mirrors and curtains, and move small items and valuables out of the room.

Ask your contractor how larger furniture will be handled so you know what to expect.

Settle colors and finishes early

Choosing colors before the start date keeps the schedule on track. Try samples on the wall and view them in daytime and evening light.

Consider different finishes for walls, ceilings and trim.

Talk through repairs

Nail holes, cracks and damaged drywall should be addressed before paint goes on. Mention them when you request an estimate.

We also handle interior and exterior repairs when a room needs more than paint.
